We do not agree with everyone's views, but the point of this exercise is to open multiple conversations and get people to start talking about gender violence because that will end the silence once and for all.
So many wrote straight from their hearts that as we pick some and leave out others, it is with an accompanying pang. Some essays were just too long and some written in formats that did not suggest 'essay.'
Don't stop talking about this issue simply because we did not choose your essay. We look forward to hearing from you next year.
