We held a roundtable conference for service providers at the Madras Terrace House. The roundtable had a good turn out of representatives from organizations like PCVC, Vishranti, Sahodari, Centre for Development and Women’s Studies, FORWORD and Sahodari.
Moderated by Vasughi of Prajnya, it was a vibrant discussion revolving around the service providers' first hand experience of encountering victims of gender violence.
Domestic violence was identified as the most common type of gender violence, alcohol and tobacco play a major role in it.
Violence against Women(VAW) is often looked at as a 'private problem'.
Prajnya, will launch a directory of service providers on 9th of December.
