About the 16 Days Campaign against Gender Violence

Between November 25 and December 10, in partnership with other Chennai civil society organizations, Prajnya organizes and coordinates events and activities at venues across the city in order to raise awareness of the different ways in which women in particular are vulnerable to violence, from their homes to zones of conflict.

This blog chronicles the Campaign from preparations to the actual 16 Days.

This is the second year that Prajnya has organized the 16 Days Campaign in Chennai. Our posts from the first year (2008) are archived on this blog.

About Prajnya

The Prajnya Trust was established in 2006 to promote the values of peace, justice and security by facilitating scholarship, advocacy, networking and educational outreach on related issues; it was registered under section 12AA of the Income Tax Act 1961 (695/06-07).

In September 2007, the Trust launched Prajnya Initiatives for Peace, Justice and Security, a public policy research centre. Prajnya's first Initiative to start work is the Politics, Security and Women in South Asia Initiative.
