A late opener, and excitement for Day 1

Back in 2013, I wanted to be the coordinator for the Prajnya 16 Days Campaign Against Gender Violence. I didn't get the job - it went to a good friend instead - but three years and an amazing journey with Prajnya later, I'm here, stepping in as the not-coordinator of the 2016 campaign!

In that way, this campaign is very different. It's the first one without a designated campaign staffer to take care of everything. It's the first time we started planning so late, and perhaps the first time that this "opening post" came on the actual first day of the campaign, and not at least a week earlier! :)

But it's also similar to all other Prajnya campaigns in many ways: the same excitement, the same level of activity, the same Prajnya commitment to trying out different things each year, and the same last minute anxiety about how this campaign will turn out!

And here we are, on Day 1, November 25, 2016. Ready to kickstart 16 days of activism against gender violence by acknowledging that the personal is political, and the political is personal. The Letterbox Resistance begins in 40 minutes, and I hope it's the start of a fun-filled campaign!
